Transformation of sentences
(1). Affirmative to negative
sentence transformation में sentence का mean change नहीं होना चाहिए
(a). not लगाकर affirmative sentence से negative sentence बनाना
not से negative sentence बनाने के लिए not लगाकर word का opposite word लगा देते हैं
example --
man is mortal-- man is not imortal.
you are wise -- you are not foolish.
(b). with use of not without
example
i love you -- i am not without love for you.
she was wise-- she was not without wisedom.
(c). with use of does/did not fail to verb(1st form)
he saw the taj mahal -- he did not fail to see the taj mahal .
my son plays cricket -- my son does not fail to play cricket.
note ---- if 1st form then does not fail to
if 2nd form then did not fail to
(d). only/alone को none but में change करके
The brave alone deserve the fair -- None but the brave deserve the fair.
(e). As soon as को No soone ........than में change करके
as soon as i had reached the station , the train steamed off------ No sooner had i reached the satation than the train steamed off.
(f). whenever/when को never but में change करके
whenever the child cries , the mother stucks it --- The child never cries but the mother stuks it .
note ...... ऐसे sentence में 1st subject के बाद never एवं 2nd subject से पहले but लगाया जाता है।
(g). comparative degree से positive degree में change करके
he is more intelligent than i --- i am not so intelligent as he .
you are duller than your brother-- your brother is not so dull as you.
note ..... ऐसे sentence में subject & object को interchange किया जाता है।
(h). positive degree से comparative degree में change करके
he is as strong as i -- I am not stronger than i
इसमें not लगाकर degree change करते हैं।
(i). superlative से positive degree में change करके ।
Iron is the most useful of all metals -- no other metal is so useful as iron.
(j). comparative से positive degree में change करके
mumbai is richer than any other town in india --- No other town in india is as rich as mumbai.
(k). subject + verb+too+adjective/adverb +to+verb 1st form को so ..,....as लगाकर change करना
he is too proud to appolize-- he is so priud that he will not appolize.
(L). So .....that ,को too......not to में change ,करके
he is so kind that he will forgive me -- he is too kind not to forgive me .
negative to affirmative में change करने के लिए इन्ही नियमों को विपरीत लगा दिया जाता है।
(2). introgative to assertive sentence
(a) helping verb and modal
are you a doctor -- you are not a doctor.
can we live without water-- we can't live without water.
(b). who---- everyone , no one , nobody , none
negative word and with non negative word
who does not know pt nehru-- Every one knows pt nehru
who has seen the wind --- No one has seen the taj mahal .
(c). when-- never ,
where-- no where
when will he become an engineer-- He will never become an engineer
why waste time --- it is useless to waste time
it is no use wasting time
assertive to introgative में change करने के लिए इन्ही नियमों को विपरीत लगा देते हैं।
(3). exclamatory to assertive sentences
what a pretty flower it is ! -- it is a very pretty flower
how beautiful a girl she is !--- she is a very beautiful girl.
(b). o that , oh that , o far, oh far , if i could only , oh if i xould only को I wish or I earnestly desire
o that I were rich --- I wish I were rich.
oh if i could only see my native place again ---------- I earnestly desire to see my native place again.
(c). To + 1st form of verb को It is strange + that+ could में change करके
To think of her winning a prize -- It is strange that she could win prize.
(d). Two parts added with "and" .
It is + adjective + that + should + be
A saint and afraid of ghosts -- it is strange that a saint should be afraid of ghosts
(e). how + adjective + of को should + helping verb + adjective + enough + to + 1st form + object
how stupid of her to do that work --- she was stupid enough to do that work .
(f). Alasको It is extremely sad / it is sad to think + that
Alas! he is ruined ------ It is extremely sad that he is ruined .
(g). Bravo-- it ia a matter of praise + that
Hurrah---- it is a matter of joy + that
fie! fie! ----- it is a matter of contempt/shame + that
Bravo! well played --- it is a matter of praise that you played well.
note ...... ऐसे ही assertive to exclamatory sentence. में change करने के लिए इन्ही नियमों को विपरीत लगा देते हैं।
Hurrah! the world cup is ours ---- it is a matter of joy that the world cup is ours.
Fie !Fie ! he has cheated his friend ---- it is a matter of contempt/shame that he has cheated his friend.
